08 Digital Twin of Ship Stability, Fire and Smoke Spread, Damage Stability and Self-Reconfigurable Systems

ACTIONS

The main objective of this line of work is the development of a series of digital twins that can form the basis of guidance/support applications for the crews of military vessels to address the following situations:

  • Situations arising from reduced or insufficient values of stability in the intact state of the vessel, which can generate both operational problems (for example, not being able to embark essential material in combat situations) and safety problems (high-risk situations arising from the total loss of stability).
  • Situations arising from possible damage, both due to the possible effect of an individual damage, as well as the effect of extension and the damage and its propagation between the different compartments of the vessel, which may ultimately result in the total loss of the vessel.
  • Situations arising from the appearance of fires on board, as well as the spread of these fires throughout the different areas of the ship, and the dispersion of smoke throughout its interior with the consequent effect on both the operation of the ship and the safety of the personnel on board.
