JERÓNIMO PUERTAS AGUDO
Civil Engineer and PhD from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Professor at the UDC since 1994 and University Professor since 2003. He is a member of the Department of Civil Engineering, in the area of Hydraulic Engineering, with teaching at the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, in the degrees of Public Works, Civil Engineering Technology and in the Master's Degree in Advanced Water Management. He is currently Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer at the Universidade da Coruña.
EDUARDO DOBARRO RUBIDO
A Senior Industrial Engineer from the University of A Coruña, since March 2021 he has been Director of the Ferrol Shipyard and Director of the Frigates and Intervention Vessels Business within the Operations and Business Department. Previously, and more recently, he held different positions of responsibility such as Director of the Operational Management and Monitoring Office at corporate level (2019) or Director of the F-110 Program (2020).
PABLO FARIÑAS ALVARIÑO
Naval and Oceanic Engineer, professor at the University of A Coruña since 2002 and currently Professor at the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Ferrol. Researcher in fluid mechanics and thermal sciences, particularly turbulent transient flows, and heat transfer with phase change. He has made 38 WoS publications. IP at the end of the first stage (2018) of the UMI UDC-Navantia “The shipyard of the future”. IP of the consolidation stage (2018-2021) of the UMI, and Co-IP of the UDC-Navantia Joint Research Center in the current stage (2022-2025).
RAFAEL MORGADE ABEAL
Industrial Engineer from the University of Vigo and Master in HR Management from the University of Barcelona. He has developed his professional career at BAZAN/IZAR/Navantia since 1989, where he has held different positions in the Repairs, Turbine Factory and Ferrol and Cartagena Shipyards businesses. Among other positions, he has been responsible for Production Management and Production Engineering at the Ferrol Estuary Shipyards and HRBP Site at the Cartagena Shipyard until 2021. He is currently responsible for the Digital and Industrial Transformation area of the Ferrol and Fene facilities.
TIAGO MANUEL FERNÁNDEZ CARAMÉS
Co-PI by the UDC of the UDC-Navantia Joint Research Center 2022-2025. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Coruña, where he is currently a Professor in the area of Electronic Technology. His lines of research include Internet of Things (IoT) systems, Edge Computing and Extended Reality, as well as other technologies involved in the Industry 4.0/5.0 paradigms and the future Metaverse. In these fields, he has contributed to more than 140 publications, including articles for JCR journals, conferences and book chapters. Most of these contributions have had a relevant impact, receiving more than 9,000 citations (according to Google Scholar), which has led him to appear since 2019 in the World's Top 2% Scientists ranking, led by Stanford University, which lists the 2% of scientists with the greatest impact worldwide.
CARLOS BLANCO SEIJO
He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Vigo. He has developed his professional career at BAZAN/IZAR/Navantia since 1994, where he has held various positions in frigate programs, including project manager for the F310 frigates for Norway, Program Manager for the F105 Frigate for the Spanish Navy, Program Manager for the AWD - Australian Destroyers -, and Program Manager for the Spanish F110 frigate until 2020. He is currently responsible for the R+D+I area of Navantia. He is deputy to the national delegate of the NATO industry advisory group (DHoD to NIAG) and author of a patent in the field of digital infrastructures.
